The Black Bear Clan

The cave where the bear clan center is found in the Claw

mountains north and west of Tantallon. You can get there by going

31n, 9w, 2n, 2w, 2s.

To be a member of the black bear clan, you must kill

a grisley bear! Ewani will give you a skinning knife so

that you can return the skin to him.

Or else you can have someone sponsor you in. Probably

easier.

In either case, you will want to speak with Ewani, who

can be found just outside the clan cave. He is the dark

skinned shaman with the HUGE forearms and the eagle feather

behind his ear.

As a bear there are no requirements as to how nice or

evil you are. This makes it easier to be a ranger than

if you HAD to stay nice or evil to obtain guild benefits.

Once you are a bear all you have to do is be sure that

your encumberance does not grow too high. If you

owe the clan much more than you give them, you

will be harassed about it.

As soon as you have joined, go into the cave and have

your 'spirit dream' . My guardian spirit is water. Each time

I wake my guardian spirit returns to my side! OH!

Is THAT why that happens!

As a bear, you will enjoy the antics of Growle, the clan

mascot. There are some pictures of him below, one

was taken when I was new here, and so was Growle.

The next one is much more current! You can see why so many

bears feed him little tidbits and morsels and buy him beers!

It MAY keep him from chowing down on you and your friends!

I know. Bears rarely do that, but just in case!

Besides the extra nirvana you get for it makes it worth while.
